"I grew up in small Northern Minnesota town with a passionate arts community. From a very young age, I was creating: Legos, small weapons made of toothpicks and pop-tabs, electronic circuits; anything I thought could be made by hand, I tried to make. I always had a love for anything medieval but it wasn't until 2006, at the age of 13, that I was first introduced to chainmaille. I was hooked! I continued to teach myself new weaves and techniques using online tutorials and forums. In 2007 I had a booth at my first art show in Bemidji as "John's Chains". From then on, I've continued to learn, develop, and expand every aspect of my jewelery and armor making to get where I am today; as JohnsChains."
